How It Works

Step 1

Plug in Smartelematics to any vehicle newer than 1996. The Smartelematics device will immediately begin to communicate with cellular, GPS, and the vehicles OBDII port. When connected the internal GPS receiver determines its location, every second.

When an event such as Engine Start, Engine Stop, Exit Geofence etc. the Smartelematics device records when and where the event occured. The vehicle is being tracked in real-time 24/7.

No more having to walk the lot looking for a vehicle.

No more having to do a Physical Inventory once a month, trying to determine if the DMS inventory matches all the vehicles on the ground.

Physical Inventory is done every day, without the overhead of using dealership employees.

Step 2

  • Run reports to determine age of vehicles on the ground
  • Look up vehicle location by stock #, VIN, or last 8 of VIN
  • Smartelematics will compare the vehicles on the floor-plan with the DMS inventory - Real-time physical inventory
  • Look at maps on the computer to determine where vehicles
  • Run reports to see which vehicles have been test driven and when
  • Total control over dealership vehicle inventory
